Sprite - Cursed Coat 'Obsidex'

Right. We got to see Malcolm without his Cursed Coat not too long ago. Now here's a sprite doodle of the opposite: the Cursed Coat without Malcolm.

There's no known cause of the coat's curse, nor is the coat's origin clear. But its curse wasn't apparent until Malcolm made frequent use of the coat's powers. And the more often he had it on, the more often the coat would possess him. Naturally, Mag and Diesel--the two classmates that seem to follow him around a lot--are concerned about the dangerous curse, but Malcolm is not willing to get rid of his coat, as its power is unmatched by any known magic item or accessory.

This sprite art is the result of much prolonged use of the coat. Soon the cursed coat becomes powerful enough to hold its own consciousness and frees itself from Malcolm's person, roaming the area and causing various chaotic problems. this of course leaves Malcolm with no means of summoning magic, as well as no effective way to control the coat. Because of his situation, he has no choice but to look for help in stopping the coat's rampage.

What do you suppose will happen?

EDIT: We have a name for the coat's cursed aura!
