'Pencil' ONI Virus

The ONI virus is often displayed in NML VAMP with a strange unrecognizeable form. Almost mechanical and robotic in its build, its processes are very simple but dangerous regardless.

The means of its entry is varied, but its infection methods have a notable pattern. It immediately is transferred to a set of programs within the heavily-secured system root, and it begins to transfer corrupt code and unsolicited commands from its location. Meanwhile an internal timer counts down to its terminal and most dangerous process: formatting the system hard drive.

All of ONI's procedures factor into its uncureable status. The secured position prevents NML's from entering, and the illicit commands and corruption keep them busy as ONI readies its fatal format command. It has since become the first virus to exploit NML processes, and as a result one of the most troublesome viruses in general.

The design and character of ONI originated from a long-departed idea called "Denseitzu," where it was a robotic monster called "Project Genji." Revived in the revamped NML story as a virus made for a much better fit and retained its status as a strong enemy. Its design changed a few times since, with the most recent change being in Spectrum Raytracer Mod, where the "tentacle" arms were unintentionally yet fittingly converted into "wire" arms. It is uncertain whether ONI is capable of intelligible speech, but certain statements have been sighted during its processes; the most infamous is its initial activation:

"I SMELL PANCAKES."
