Lina, 2008

Lina got an icon, and now she's gotten an updated design! She truly has been neglected. She's one of the cutest, most innocent characters of Pepper & Co.

Those unknowing of her, Lina the Snow Leopard is eventually Ataru's girlfriend. She's even more timid and scared than Ataru, and can be a little clumsy. The typical reason is her extremely long, fluffy tail. It's useful when things get TOO cold, and she has an odd habit of coiling into a ball when she's very frightened. She feels safe around Ataru, and this forces him to show a more courageous side that's rarely seen. But then, Ataru loves Lina, and certainly doesn't wish for anything bad or harmful to happen to her.

Because Pepper's house is full up with his friend, there's no room for Lina, unfortunately. So she lives in a relatively empty igloo not far from Pepper's parents' home. Pepper's folks often visit and attempt to help Lina loosen up, but half of the time it does the exact opposite, and she arrives home as a shivering spotted ball. She hates the cold and would rather be somewhere sunny, if there weren't so many people! The curse of being so shy...

The redesign alters a few proportions. The body is smaller and the tail is longer. Yes, I know some of you will think she has the tail of a squrrel; on that note, nuts to you! While I admit the tail does seem a bit awkward-looking, I think it works well for her character. She really can cover much of herself up with her tail! Some alterations of her spots were made too.

Oh, and this is her first ever colored portrait! :3
